DYNAMIC THAI MASSAGE RETREAT – Ireland West

Corso di Dynamic Thai Massage con Flora Bisogno a Firenze

This course is mainly taught in English, lasts five days, and is held in a residential format, in the West of Ireland, at the beautiful green structure www.green-spiral.com .

Thai Dynamic is aimed at those who wish to learn techniques that bring diversity in touch, rhythm, together with fluidity, creativity and playfulness to the treatment, those who have completed Thai Massage level 1 and 2, those who practice other traditions of floor treatment and who have some experience.

This retreat is also open to beginners in Thai Massage who have some experience in dance, yoga, theater and similar disciplines.

The Dynamic Thai treatment is a creative and therapeutic way of working on the body to restore its mobility and free the nervous system through the connection with the element of water. The “dynamic modality” of Thai Massage is inspired by the master and therapist Ajahn Chaiyut Priyasith (Northern Thailand) and masterfully reinterpreted and developed in Europe and Asia by David Lutt (France) and Krishnatakis (Greece).

The right combination of gentle shaking, oscillatory and harmonic techniques, allow an effective release and balance of the nervous system, drainage of the lymphatic system, stimulation of the circulatory system and restoration of mobility in the musculoskeletal system and tissues (fascia layers). Furthermore, being a very playful treatment, it stimulates good mood and joy for those who do it and those who receive it.

In this type of treatment, some techniques coming directly from Thai Massage and some from Osteopathy are combined (harmonic techniques, general GOT treatment, swinging and shaking).

During the retreat we will practice asana, meditation, qi gong and chanting.
In the atmosphere of the sangha (community) we will be able to enjoy the lush Irish nature, healthy food prepared with dedication.

        THAI AND OSTEOTHAI MASSAGE RETREAT
        Rhythm and Stillness
        18-23 JUNE- 2025
        Tuscany (FI)

        1024 1024 Flora

THAI and OSTEOTHAI RETREAT “Rhythm and Stillness”: Diving into the Fascia

Five days of retreat and work on/with the body in which we practice: multiple levels of touch exploring Traditional Thai Massage (Nuad), Dynamic Thai Massage and Osteothai; the personal practice of mindful movement, meditation; the spirit of welcome and community (sangha).
In this fourth edition we will focus on the Fascia

        FOCUS ON THE FASCIA NETWORK
It is now well known that fascia constitutes the architecture of our body, that it is a “constitutive” tissue, a multi-lamellar, dense and stratified structure, which forms a continuum throughout the body, performing a function of support and shock absorber of the force of gravity. It envelops and penetrates all the organs, muscles and nerve fibers. The fascial network allows directional motor control, coordination, synchronization. Fascial tissue is also closely linked to our emotional world.
Knowing the wonderful world of fascia and knowing how to feel and treat it is today essential for every holistic operator who wants to support the overall well-being of the person and promote self-regulation.

        MULTIPLE LEVELS OF TOUCH
This is what is needed to learn to communicate with the different layers and tissues of the body. We learn different types of touch to support the system at every level: musculoskeletal, fascial, fluidic, energetic, craniosacral, etc.

RHYTHM AND QUIET IN THAI MASSAGE AND OSTEOTHAI: THE CHANGES OF RHYTHMS
Being able to adapt and change the rhythm of your treatment to the different needs of the receiver brings greater therapeutic effectiveness, creativity, fluidity as well as playfulness and intuition in the practice.

        LIFE IS RHYTHM
Rhythm is one of the fundamental principles of life.
Rhythm allows adaptation, transformation and evolution.
To respect and acknowledge the rhythms that regulate biological, physical and natural life allows us to find a beneficial balance that will always be made up of alternating phases of movement and stillness.

        THE STILLNESS
Stop, calm down, rest… as the great masters of Buddhism teach us, it is only in the practice of stillness (calm abiding) that the preliminary conditions for individual and collective healing are found. In bodily practices it is in the moment of stillness that the “system” integrates and adjusts, rediscovering homeostasis and self-regulation.

AN INVITATION TO TRAIN THE MINDFUL TOUCH
During the retreat you will be guided into the depth of the art of touch.
Immersed in nature we will be able to recall our silent, creative and healing inner space as well as to resonate with kindness of the heart. In the practice of principles and techniques that we will share, one step at a time we will “touch” our deep being and we will learn to extend this same experience to others and everything around us.

        FOR WHOM
This retreat is an invitation to come back home, in the center of your heart. We wish the participate for those who work with body-mind -spirit system, who have minimal or advanced experience in Thai Massage, Shiatsu or Yoga practice, fisio, osteopath and anyone who wants to implement their own practice with different and useful perspectives, anyone who want to learn how to take care with love and kindness through the art of touch.
We also welcome dancers, artist or those who work with expression, all those who wish to find new inspiration for their vocation.

You will be guided by  Flora (Italy) e Kelly (Usa), both Master Osteothai (France) with experience in Thai Massage, Yoga and meditation. If you are a beginner you will discover an amazing way to take care of yourself and others through mindful movement and touch; if you are already a practitioner you will have a chance to repeat, practice and delve deeper in this ancient art.

Embarking on a foundation course in Thai yogamassage is like setting the cornerstone for a journey into the world of healing touch.
During this course we will delve into the fundamentals of Thai massage, covering essential techniques, basic anatomy and energetics.
You will learn about the art of touch and the principles of Thai massage, including mindfulness, compassion and metta (loving-kindness).
Through dedicated instruction, (guided) practice and feedback you will develop your touch and have a strong foundation.
By immersing yourself in this ancient tradition you are not only acquiring a valuable skill but will also be embracing a holistic approach to wellness that can profoundly impact yourself and those you touch.
The “art of touch” encompasses far more than just technique; it embodies the intuitive connection between practitioner and receiver, creating an environment of healing and relaxation.

              For whom?
Exploring the ancient healing tradition of Thai massage is not only suitable for people with no experience in bodywork but also highly beneficial for Yoga teachers, Qi Gong practitioners, Shiatsu therapists, physiotherapists and bodyworkers.
Regardless of experience level or background, embracing loving kindness in Thai massage offers a transformative path toward becoming a more compassionate and effective practitioner, enriching both the giver and the receiver.

              What will you learn?
You will learn rhythmic and static pressures applied on specific lines called “Sen” and points along the whole body: using your thumbs, palms, forearms and feet, as well as stretching and passive yoga asana.
You will be guided to carefully engage the force of gravity and correct your posture, to treat all tissues in depth and effortlessly: muscles, tendons, connective tissue, fascia layers, and internal organs. The main objective of this art is to remove obstacles and to free the flow of fluids and energy.

THAI MASSAGE LEVEL 3 “Nuad Thai e Sen Sib”

Corso di formazione di Thai Massage con Flora Bisogno a Firenze

This module is suitable for those who have completed Level 1 and 2 of the basic Thai Massage course, including with other schools and teachers (after interview), and have had a practice for at least a year.

In this course we will go in depth into the philosophy of traditional Thai medicine and the practice of the 10 Sen (Thai Sib Sen or Sen Sip).
Since “opening” and “keeping” the Sen free is one of the primary objectives of treatments in the Thai healing arts, it is of primary importance for every Thai Massage practitioner to know the theory and practice of Lom Prana (“The Wind of Life”, one of the possible translations) and its practical applications.

We will study in depth how these invisible “channels” run along the body and distribute vital energy (also called prana, wind, Lom Pran, Chi).
We will see in detail the trajectories of the 10 Sen, how to locate them, how to manipulate and unlock them with pressure, acupressure, rocking, stretching and other techniques coming from the tradition of Thai Massage and how to apply them to the most common problems such as: foot mobility, plantar fasciitis, treatment deep legs, lower back pain, sciatica, scar treatment, shoulder problems, tennis elbow, pain in the cervical area.

In this course I will teach with Luca Pompili, who has twenty years of experience in the field of Thai Massage and other body disciplines; member of the Italian Traditional Thai Massage Federation, Luca studied with Mario Milli, Andrea Baglioni and with Thai masters such as Pichet Bonthumme.
He has also attended numerous courses in Chi Nei Tsang, Bio-fluidic Osteopathy, Osteothai, Dynamic Thai. Today he is also a Bowen therapy operator (Bowtec): School recognized by the Australian Academy.

                  THAI YOGA MASSAGE RETREAT
                  Rhythm and Stillness
                  21-25 August 2024
                  Borgo San Lorenzo (Florence)

                  1024 1024 Flora

                  Rhythm & Stillness
THAI MASSAGE RETREAT: a journey toward the heart

Five days of retreat and work on/with the body in which we practice: multiple levels of touch exploring Traditional Thai Massage (Nuad), Dynamic Thai Massage and Osteothai; the personal practice of conscious movement, meditation; the spirit of welcome and community (sangha).

                  FOCUS ON THE HEART
In this third edition we will focus on the Heart: the master/fulcrum of the organs.
The heart and its arterial network are the central system for the rhythmic movement of life through the myocardium and all the systems connected to it: it is a master-clock generator of systemic coherence; defined as the fulcrum of fulcrums as its vital function is that of integration. Far from being a mere pump and system of pipes, ancient traditions and scientific research have shown that the heart can influence the entire body in various ways. The heart is, in fact, a highly complex, self-organized information processing center with its own functional “brain” that communicates with and influences the cranial brain via the nervous system, hormonal system and other pathways. These influences profoundly affect brain function and most of the body’s major organs, and ultimately determine the quality of life.

THAI MASSAGE & OSTEOTHAI: THE CHANGE OF RHYTHMS
Being able to adapt and change the rhythm of your treatment to the different needs of the receiver brings greater therapeuIc effecIveness, creaIvity, fluidity as well as playfulness and intuiIon in the practice.

                  MULTIPLES LEVELS OF TOUCH
This is what is needed to learn to communicate with the different layers and issues of the body. We learn different types of touch to support the system at every level: musculoskeletal, fascial, fluidic, energetic, craniosacral, etc.

“THE JOURNEY TOWARDS THE HEART IS A JOURNEY TOWARDS HOME”
                  FOR WHOM IS THIS RETREAT?
This retreat is an invitation to you to come back home, in the center of your heart. We wish the participation for those who work with body-mind -spirit system, who have minimal or advanced experience in Thai Massage, Shiatsu or Yoga practice, fisio, osteopaths and anyone who wants to implement their own practice with different and useful perspectives, anyone who want to learn how to take care with love and kindness through the “art of touch”. Seminario Osteothai e tecniche armoniche con Flora Bisogno a Firenze

In this workshop we will introduce general Osteothai’s principles, we will study and practice techniques which combine Thai Massage and osteopathy based on the gentle oscillation of different parts of the body.
These techniques mainly consist of cyclic movements (patterns), oscillations and rhythmic movements and allow the different layers of tissues to resonate with physical mechanisms such as pendulum and spring. We will learn how to bring relief, mobility and vitality to all parts of the body to which they are applied.
You will learn simple, precise, effective and safe techniques to integrate into the treatment you already offer. We will focus on the most common symptoms such as muscle contractures, tissue adhesions, lack of flexibility, scars and post-traumatic contractures, edema, inflammation and lack of drainage.

This workshop is for practitioners who have a basis of study and practice of Thai Massage (Level 1 and 2) but is also open to those who practice or study other disciplines and want to learn new techniques.
